Week 5 Photo Challenge: In the Director's chair
I didn't recognize my passion of being a director until I actually took on the role. I was assigned a group project to make a music video. I got stuck with all the roles because my group members disappeared. I was skeptical about being the director for the project because I preferred to shoot and edit. Once the final music video was complete, I was amazed how I accomplished the role of a director. The most important thing is to keep organized and to prepare various paperwork as needed. Overall, I was proud of the finished product.

Week 5 EOC: Progress towards my Four Professional Contacts and Progress on Networking.
I have had the opportunity to obtain three out of the four professional contacts. Currently, I’ve taken the time to obtain an attorney, an insurance consultant, and a tech. I have yet to speak with anybody from the bank. I would like to have a detailed business plan completed before doing so. My goal is to actually speak about realistic situations, rather than small talk that gets me nowhere. It would be a good idea after the business plan is completed to speak with the four contacts again. I can then track my progress, and follow through with some of the tactics. I haven’t had much progress in the subject of networking. It’s not that I don’t want to go and meet new people. I spend most of my day at work, with little time to attend any special events. I’m aware of how important the networking process is. It is definitely vital, in order to be noticed. My goal is to become proficient and consistent with the whole process. Once I graduate, I think it will provoke me to get out there and to hustle for what I seek from the production world. The conventions held in the area, have been something I’ve wanted to try. All in all, it’s not what you know…it’s who you know.
Week 4 Photo Challenge: Original Movie Poster
The sample movie poster is more for advertising rather than for print. This would be a documentary of a young man who writes and makes music. He pretty much lives on his own, and is starting from nothing. He has hopes of earning the fame he craves. The design of the poster is really basic. The black white and red fit well together and gives a dark feel. This is only a first draft of the poster. The pictures need to be blended into the background. The font for the final product is also going to be changed. The release of the following short film would be introduced in the wintertime. The opening would be at no charge in order to develop relationships with potential investors. I would prefer to complete the movie poster after the final edit is done. It definitely deserves its own design time, seeing as most films are judged by the cover anyway.

Week 3 Photo Challenge: Storyboard for a commercial
I developed the storyboard above to represent a local salon in Vegas. The stills are examples of some of the shots/ angles that would be captured. The main idea is to introduce the services in which the salon offers. Many new trends have been developed in salons over the past years. My intentions were to advertise the new services such as feather and lash extensions, as well as Minx and 3-D nail art. Wild Orchid is a local high end salon. They are known for their 3-D nail art and professional standards. Although, the prices are high…you definitely get what you pay for. It is very important to show exactly what they can do. In the nine sequences I’ve included some of their most popular services. The salon also sells various accessories. The most important part of the commercial would be to capture the atmosphere. The vibe and artistic quality is what brings the women back into the salon. As a professional I’ve focused on three main points, who they are, what they do, and what they offer. Locally, I have yet to see a commercial which advertises any of the good salons in town. There is a market to do so, this particular salon brings in good money but there is opportunity to make more. Overall, the vibe of the commercial would be natural, with slight dialogue. I have become interested in completing some videography for this business. It is a great place to be and I want to share it with the world.

Week 3 EOC: Where are you now, and where are you going
In the past few months my life has changed drastically. I've made some big moves and my agenda has opened up for the better. I'm currently employed with a law firm in which I plan to stay for a while. The plans that I have going on now aren't set in stone. Things can always change and I’ve learned how to adjust. As graduation waits for me around the corner, I look forward to obtaining a second full-time job. I'm not afraid to admit that I’m a workaholic. No matter how many times that I’m told I’ll never be satisfied, I continue to dream bigger. At this point I’m working seven days a week in order to accomplish the goals I plan on reaching. I remain open to new aspects of work at all times. In this point of my life, I can sleep when I’m dead. I'm not impressed with where I’m at now, but I’m on my way. I plan on gaining production experience in other places besides Vegas. I'm thinking of Seattle, Florida, or New York. I have the resources in order to make these major decisions, but I’m waiting until the time is right. Ideally, I want to be able to enjoy what I do. I want to work hard, and play harder. I will never be content with my career status; I want to achieve the inevitable.
Week2: Photo Challenge
This photo was taken during a shoot on the strip. My intentions were to capture various clips of the Vegas lights. I was inspired by a track that I listened to. The photo is memorable because this is the first time that I took my camera out after purchasing it. The sole purpose of the shoot was to become familiar with the functions of a DSLR camera. It is important to become familiar with the settings, especially in the lighting aspect. The lighting changes frequently, which makes great practice. I don’t plan on using this image; it’s more of a memorable keepsake.
